We started very early from our house in Rhineland-Palatinate (Rheinland-Pfalz). Our first stop was a zoo in Weilburg. We were alone with two grandfathers and grandmothers and their grandchildren. This was a wonderful walk through amazing scenery with local fauna. 

In the afternoon we visited Grünberg with a great playground and a beautiful historical center. Here we met nice children who were playing with Lotta on the playground.

In the evening we found an amazing overnight spot at the castle of Herzberg (Heart Mountain) in Hessen. Lotta had a lot of fun all evening with two dogs and their owners.

14th of May 2024

Before breakfast, Lotta had fun with the two dogs from yesterday. After breakfast we made an attempt to find the two dogs, but without success. Then we  drove to Merkers to visit the salt mine, but Lotta was too young to enter. Therefore we drove to Bad Salzungen a wonderful town with an amazing historical centre. Here we walked around the Burgsee and ate ice cream in the center.

In the evening we found a fantastic place to spend the night in Weißensee right on the lake. Here we had a wonderful walk through the historical centre and an great dinner at a playground of an allotment garden colony.

We were woken up by wonderful weather. After a hearty breakfast we drove to Sangerhausen. Here we visited the Europa Rosarium, the largest rose farm in the world with a great playground. In the following we visited the birth town of Martin Luther, Eisleben, Lutherstadt. Here we spent a lot of time in the historic center and followed in the footsteps of Martin Luther.

In the evening we reached Wittenberg, Lutherstadt and bathed in the local indoor swimming pool. Our overnight location was very close to the historic center.

Our day began with a wonderful walk through the historic center of Lutherstadt Wittenberg. The historic center is ideal for a walk with children and the spirit of Martin Luther can be seen everywhere. In the afternoon we traveled through the beautiful landscape of the Spreewald, starting in Jüterbog, followed by Baruth Mark and Lübben. In Frankfurt (Oder) we crossed the border to Poland and reached Słubice.

In the evening we found an amazing overnight spot in the middle of the nature of Słońsk.
