This was our first night in a hotel and with breakfast in a hotel. Only Janick, Finn and Luna have slept in the hotel, we and Lotta had slept in the truck behind the hotel. After the extensive breakfast in the hotel we had discovered Safranbolu, a wonderful town in the North of Anatolia. At lunchtime we took advantage of the comfort of the booked hotel to take a break in hotel beds. In the afternoon we had another walk through Safranbolu. After the walk we drove to the south by passing the towns Hanköy, Eskipazar and Gerede. 

We found our overnight spot in the nationalpark "Şahinler Tabiat Parkı".

Date 17th of November 2020

The first frost, the landscape around us shines silver. Today is my birthday and the whole family is sitting around the table. After the birthday cake we went for a walk in warm clothes. Two hours later we took our brunch by sunny warm weather. After brunch we took a long walk in the middle of a fantastic landscape. Then we had a barbecue at the noon time.

In the afternoon we drove to the south. At the way we visited Kızılcahamam and its wounderful centre and market.

For the night we took again a hotel but only the three kids slept in the hotel and the parents with baby Lotta slept in the truck.

Date 18th of November 2020

In the morning there was a hearty breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast everyone took a shower in the hotel room. Then we took a taxi to drove to a shopping centre in Çankaya. Back in the hotel we took our lunch in the restaurant. In the afternoon we were back on the road to south.

For the night we took a spot in the Karaahmetli Tabiat Parkı, directly at the Kapulukaya lake. Our first freesite, stay free, in Asia.

Date 19th of November 2020

We were woken up directly at the Kapulukaya lake, close to Karaahmetli. The weather was cloody and not so warm, nevertheless we still spent the whole morning at this spot. The kids were playing in the playground and I was busy dealing with a water leak in the kitchen. After the lunch we continue drove to the south. 

In Kirsehir we took a short city tour including a break at a market. Here we left the main roud in order to reached a overnight spot at a salt lake called "Seyfe Gölü Kus Cenneti". We found a great place, but after sunset the police came and banned us from spending the night. We needed to follow the police until Mucur. From here we drove to Göreme and took a campground for the night.

20th of November 2020

We arrived on the night of November 19th and 20th and spent the night in a parking lot in front of a campsite. In the morning we moved from the parking lot to the campsite, followed by a relaxing breakfast. The weather was sunny and cold. In the morning and at lunchtime we discovered the endless tuff hills and tuff houses around the campsite. The scenery is extraterrestrial. In the afternoon we took our bikes and rode through this breathtaking landscape with all the tuff rocks.

21st of November 2020

Today we took our bikes again to discover Göreme and its center. A typical day strolling through the city with souvenir shops, playgrounds and shopping areas. In the afternoon there was lunch with local specialties.

A amazing morning, the sunrise was beautiful accompanied by endless hot air balloons in the sky. We were breathless about this scenery at the morning in Göreme. The last hot air balloons were landed at 8 a.m. We had a short walk before we drove to Nevsehir in order to find something to eat and drink. In Nevsehir we had a lunch by a turkish fast food restaurant.

In the afternoon we visited Uçhisar and their fastinatic castle (Uçhisar Kalesi). We climbed over, inside and around the castle. In the evening we overnighted at another campsite by Göreme.

Date 23rd of November 2020

We have overnighted again in Göreme but at the other side of Göreme, in the south. Also this morning was characterised by a wonderful sunrise and endless of hot air balloons in the sky. In the morning we visited the great open-air museum of Göreme (Göreme Açık Hava Müzesi). In this museum we were able to see a town with houses built from tuff and built into tuff.

In the afternoon we visited Derinkuyu. Here we had a lunch in a restaurant followed by visiting the underground city of Derinkuyu (Derinkuyu Yeraltı Şehri). We were impressived of the underground-city but sometimes frightened from the narrowness.

In the evening we found an overnight spot in Belisırma Valley (Belisırma Vadi Girişi). We stayed in the front of several restaurants. Our dinner were ordered by one of this restaurants.

Date 24th of November 2020

In the morning we had an exciting walk through the Belisırma Valley. We had discovered historical buildings like hunting lodges, churches and living houses. We were accompanied by two dogs the whole time. The Belisırma Valley is an open-air museum within a wonderful nature. At lunchtime we visited Aksaray mainly to replenish our food supplies and to spend time at a playground.

In the afternoon we drove further to the south a enjoed the view to the Medetsiz Mountains (Medetsiz Dağı). In the evening we reached the Medetsiz Mountains and found an overnight spot in Çiftehan behind an run-down hotel.

Date 25th of November 2020

Awakened by the sunrise over the Medetsiz Mountains (Medetsiz Dağı). This day trip led us from the mountains to the sea. In the mountains we crossed the idyllic towns Akçatekir and Damlama. In the Mediterranean Region we crossed the big cities of Tarsus, Mersin and Erdemli. In the megacity of Mersin we took a break right at a playground.

In the darkness of the upcoming night we have found a overnight spot directly at the coast. We overnighted in the front of a closed campsite.
