İncekum Nature Park is a wonderful green peninsula. In the morning we were lucky with the weather, a break in the rain and we were able to discover the beautiful green İncekum peninsula. In the afternoon we continued along the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. The weather was gusty, more and more rain and wind.

In the evening we went to the campsite in Kızılot, stopping between many hotel complexes. Unfortunately we made a bad transposition manoeuvre at the campground and botched the green of the campground. Nevertheless, in the end we found stable ground for the night and were able to enjoy the evening on Sultan Beach.

Date 15th of December 2020

In the morning we enjoyed the good weather at Sultan Beach. Hotel complexes all around us, but we were alone and out of peak season. Nevertheless we continue our trip and reached at the noon time the historical city Side. We were impressed by all the historic Roman buildings and ruins. At the historic harbor we had lunch in front of a restaurant with a wonderful view over the sea.

In the evening we drove forward to Antalya where we have reserved a house. We spent the whole evening exploring the house and dividing up the rooms.

Stopover in Antalya

16th - 18th of December 2020 Antalya (Düden Parki Şelalesi)

The evening before we reached our home for the Christmas and New Year period. Our house was in front of the Düden Park with its famous waterfalls. This park has everything for a family, many playgrounds, cafes as well as ice cream parlors, cycling and skating trails. And long walks and cycling were possible above the cliffs with a fantastic view over the sea.

In the first three days we were mainly in this park by beautiful weather.

Excursion to Konyaalti

19th of December 2020

At the fourth day in Antalya we have rented a car. Our first destination was the Konyaalti coast on the other side of Antalya Bay. 

We spent the whole morning and lunchtime at Konyaaltı Plajları (beach) with still nice weather and a great view of Antalya. At lunch time we bought our lunch from one of the fast food restaurants and ate our lunch on the beach.

In the afternoon we visited the wonderful historical centre of Antalya.

20th of December 2020

Today we were back in Side for the second time. And we were impressed again and found much more history than on our first visit to Side. Especially the historical marketplace (Agora) and the historical harbour took out the breath.

We took our lunch in a front of a restaurant at the cliffs and we had blue sky and a wonderful view above the sea. Lotta was able to move around the playground during our lunch. In the afternoon we drove back to our winter domicile in Antalya.

21st - 24th of December 2020

Now we have begun an unusual Christmas season for us, the first time we are not spending Christmas at home. The days before Christmas we were busy baking cookies and shopping. But mainly we rode bikes to explore the Düden Park and to visit Lara Plajı the city beach. We had wonderful weather the whole time, it was warm and sunny.

On Christmas morning we put up our plastic Christmas tree and decorated the house. On Christmas afternoon we decorated our Christmas tree.

On Christmas Eve we took a walk through Düden Park and stopped at a playground. After we got back home we were surprised by Christ Child. 

25th of December 2020 - 01st of January 2021

In the following days after Christmas we were very lazy, watching movies, reading books and bathing in our own hot tub. Sometimes we walked through Düden Park and spent time in playgrounds.

On December 27th we rode our bikes to the historical centre and port of Antalya. Over the next few days we went on a lot of bike rides, mostly along the Antalya coast.

On December 31st we played many games indoors and outdoors. In the evening we celebrated the upcoming New Year. On New Year’s Day we enjoyed the wonderful weather in Düden Park.

Every day between Christmas and New Year we had wonderful weather and were every evening at the cliffs to enjoy the great sunset above the sea.
