The whole morning we enjoyed a walk through Whitehead. At this day there was a festival in Whitehead, a sailing trip at the beach and an funfair and oldtimer meeting at the sports ground. Concluding we enjoyed fish-and-chips with the view to the harbour and the colorful houses of Whitehead.

In the afternoon we took a ferry and have reached the most northern country on our tour, Scotland. We overnighted in a backyard directly in Ayr and close to the playgrounds at the beach.

 

An amazing morning in Whitehead and a long evening at the playgrounds at the beach of Ayr.

Today we gone forward to the North-West of Scotland. We have August but it is misty and the nature is verdant. After the ferry trip from Gourock to Kirn we dived deeper in the misty green forest of Scotland. In Craigendive and in Glendaruel (our overnight spot) we discovered the natur per pedes. The forest in the South-West of the highlands are mystic and thrillingly.

 

An exciting day in the nature of the highlands in the South-West of Scotland.

Inveraray Castle and Kilchurn Castle were our first targets for this day and we enjoyed the visit of this two castles. Nevertheless we wanted to go deeper in the mystery of Harry Potter, sadly the house of Rubeus Hagrid was not detectable but we don't resigned. The whole day we felt the mystic of incredible stories. At the end of this day we found a mythic overnight stop in front of Loch Creran.

 

A day in other worlds, in a fantastic world full with fantasy.

Two legendary movie sets the Castle "Stalker" from the "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and the Hogwarts Express respectively the Glenfinnan Viaduct (Harry Potter). The Castle Stalker was reached very difficult we need to went through bushes and down muddy trails. The challenge to see the Glenfinnan Viaduct and the steaming Hogwarts Express was the over-crowded parking places. Nevertheless we saw how the Hogwarts Express driven across the Glenfinnan Viaduct.

Our overnight spot was above Mallaig with an amazing view over the ocean included a fantastic sunset.

 

For one day in surreal worlds.

After the breakfast we took the morning ferry to the island "Skye". On the ferry and also on the road we was on its own. But after one hour we have reached the main road, connecting Skye with Scotland via a bridge, it was busy with tourists. Consequently it was difficult for us with our big truck to find parking places. However we was able to visiting Sligachan and Dunvegan Castle. 

But at the end of the day we found an silence spot for us to overnight in Glendale.

 

A day between tourism and individual traveling.

Continuous rain and the temperature is cold, nevertheless we spent outside in the nature of Skye. In the morning we walk on the "Neist Point Trail" and visited a sheep shearing event. In the afternoon we visited the Coral Beach. This beach comprise out of small shells puzzles.

In the evening we crossed Skype from East to West and have found an overnight spot in front of the Loch Leathan, close to the rock wall of the Storr.

 

A wonderful day at two amazing nature spots of Skye.

Date 12th of August 2022

 

In the morning we walked up the rock wall called "Old Man of Storr". The weather was foggy and clammy and everywhere was Midges, horrible very small mosquitoes. Nevertheless especially because of the fog the "Old Man of Storr" was mystic. During the none time we curved around the north part of Skye and have our own cooked lunch in front of Duntulm Castle. This part of the island was mainly developed with a single lane but not strong traveled.

In the afternoon we visited Fairy Glen a fee-landscape, a green hill area with wonderful panorama and full with mystic. In the evening we took the ferry from Uig to North Uist. At North Uist we took a campsite in order to wash our clothes and to took a warm shower.

 

A wonderful day in a mystic world.

Everybody have took a warm shower and the clothes have been cleaned. The road trip went on. We decided to took a freesite spot not far from here in Tigharry. The whole day we spent at the two beaches of Tigharry for walking, ball games and stand-up paddling. We enjoyed the sunset and the night at this freesite spot.

 

A relaxed day at the coast of the Isle of North Uist.

Date 14th of August 2022

 

We started this day with an extensive walk through the coastal landscape of West North Uist. After back on the Road we let us led from Geocache and found four catches in a very short time. Then we visited Scolpaig Tower and Dun an Sticir two mythic spots.

We took our lunch break in Berneray, harbour town and we watched seals during our lunch. After the lunch we took the ferry to South Harris (Lewis with Harris). At the west coast of Harris we made a stop at the Seilebost beach in order to find an overnight spot but we was not able to find one.

The following road led us through the mountains of South Lewis and it was cold, therefore we decided to go forward to the North Coast of Lewis, there was an amazing overnight spot.

We waked up at the North East coast of Lewis and enjoyed the fastinatice cost with the Garry Beach and Traigh Mhòr (a wonderful natur scenery). We painted pictures in the sand and played tag in the scenery of Traigh Mhòr. 

The afternoon and evening we enjoyed the amazing scenery of the North West coast of Lewis, Eoropie Dunes Park, Eoropie Beach, Butt of Lewis Lighthouse and Port Stoth. The Eoropie Dunes Park has a wonderful playground, the Eoropie Beach has fantastic dune-sceneries, Butt of Lewis Lighthouse has an amazing feeling to see the endless of the world and Port Stoth has one of my faveroit fressite spots, ever.

 

We lived in several dreams about us and the nature.

A rainy, cold and stormy day along the west coast of Lewis. We collected geocaches at the historical settlement "Norse Mill and Kiln" and close to the Shawbost Beach. We took our lunch break at the Calanais Standing Stones. In the evening we visited Stornoway mainly in order to arrange our dinner for the evening and to organise the ferry for the next day. For the night we selected a parking place outside of Stornoway at the Iolaire Memorial, remindful of a very gloomy point in the history of the Isle Lewis. 

 

We braved the storm and cold weather and spent a lot of time in the outside.

We took a early ferry from Stornoway to Ullapool therefore we had our breakfast on board. In Ullapool we took the road to Inverness through the wonderful scenery of the scottish highland. We had our first break at the Lael Forest Garden and have found a Geocache. Our extensive lunch break was in the Wyvis Natural Play Park. A beautiful spot with an amazing playground an an amazing scenery along the river "Black Water".

In Inverness we had an unplanned stop at do-it-yourself store because we need to buy tools in order to fix problems brake pipe. Our overnight stop was at a campsite close to Loch Ness.

 

A sunny and warm day in the middle of the Highland of Scotland.

Date 18th of August 2022

 

Our plan for this morning was to visit Urquhart Castle and to have a walk along Loch Ness but we was not able to find a parking possibility for our truck. Nevertheless we got nice views about the castle and the famous Loch Ness. The next Loch, Loch Oich, enable better parking possibilities and we got the chance to have a walke. We took our next stop outside of Spean Bridge at a Commando Memorial in order to search a Geocache.

At the Creag Meagaidh National Nature Reserve in front of Loch Laggan we had an extensive and wonderful stop together with Scottish highland cattles. In Pitlochry we took the local overnight spot.

 

"Loch Hopping" - A road trip from Loch to Loch.

Pitlochry is a beautiful town. The main street resembles a main street within a ski resort in the Alpes. In Pitlochry we visited the very interesting hydroelectric power plant.

Our only stop for this day was Saint Andrews at the east coast of Scotland. St Andrews is awesome with a great beach, an amazing centre, many historic buildings and an impressively university. Our highlight was an italian ice in downtown.

We chosen a camping site in Kinross in close relationships of a bus station with connections to Edinburgh.

 

We met two wonderful cities.

City tour Edinburgh / Citytour Edinburgh

Date 20th of August 2022

 

Today we visited Edinburgh, after the breakfast we went to the bus station and took the bus to Edinburgh. Every August there is the International Festival in Edinburgh. In the whole downtown there are artist present their art. Musician, actors, artist, the whole town was colored and full with music.

We spent the whole day in Edinburgh, in the many city parks we could made breaks and found something to eat and playgrounds for our kids.

 

A city event should be performed each day in each town worldwide.

Today we have to say "See you later, Scotland". Before we left Scotland we have visited the chapel and castle of Roslin, a mystical, historical place. Unfortunate we was not inside, because booking in advance is mandatory. But nevertheless we made an extensive walk around the chapel and to the Castle of Roslin. This place is simply amazing and takes your breath away.

In the evening we found a wonderful overnight spot in the middle of Cheswick Sands & Nature Reserve.

 

We was very impressed from Roslin and very happy with our overnight spot.
