Along the river Guadiana which compound Portugal and Spain. We have a great stop in Alcoutim. At the end we have found an amazing overnight stay close to Mértola, called Estação da Biodiversidade de Bombeira do Guadiana.

One of the hottest days during our trip through Portugal. We started with a refreshing morning within the river Guadiana with a break in Beja and a refreshing evening within the lake Barragem do
Roxo. Unfortunately we was not able to visiting Beja because of the heat therefore our oldest son done the city tour through Beja without us (see makepause.com).
The day was focusing to got away from the heat..

Because of the continue heat we decided to make only a short tour from one lake to the next lake. In the morning we swam in the lake Barragem do Roxo and in the evening we swam in the lake Albufeira da Barragem de Odivelas.

The temperature was going down under 30 degrees. Therefore we decided to start a city tour of Évora (see separate photo story). After 4 hours sightseeing in Évora we chose an overnight spot in between of several magic standing stones.
A wonderful sightseeing trip in Évora ending with a magic night between standing stones.

The day leads us again to the central of Portugal. Summarizing we have visited the amazing city of Montemor-o-Novo and we have overnighted close to Belém, the symbol of Portugal.
