We are again on tour and again we travelling along the river Mosel. Our first trip to five without our student. In Bullay we have our one stop but this stop was amazing. A stop at the noon time with fast food and two different playgrounds directly at the river Mosel and included the autumn sun. After a beautiful trip along the river we have found our overnight stop in Larochette (Fels) in Luxemburg.

Today we have travelled through the idyllic countryside of North-Luxembourg and South-Belgium. Unfortunately we had no the chance to made a brake in North-Luxembourg because of missing parking abilities. In Bastogne we had our first stop with burgers and frites. After our food shopping in Marche-en-Famenne we have found our overnight stay in Namur. This spot was not nice but useful.

After the breakfast, bacon with eggs, we have an ample walk through Namur, a beautiful town. We passed Mazy, Sombreffe and Plancenoit. In Waterloo we took a lunch break with meatballs and rice. After the lunch break we visited the landscape of Waterloo. Then we decided to visit Brussels but we have to suffer than mobile homes are not welcome. Nevertheless we were able to see some highlights of Brussels. Our overnight stop has been found in Aalst during continuous rain.

A day starting with sun and ending in the rain.

Brussels a big city not welcoming caravans, therefore we got not the chance to see more about Brussels.

Date 19th of October 2023

The day was influenced by skanky weather. The morning was cloudy but not wet. Therefore we drove to the next playground in Wetteren. At this playground Lotta got the ability to get movement and we got the chance to plan the rest of the day. We have decided to go forward directly to Bruges. In Bruges we took a camping ground because we needed a hot shower. In the afternoon we visited Bruges (see separate photo story).

In addition we have learned that in Belgium three cities, Brussels, Ghent and Antwerp, have a low-emission zone with a 14 days notice in advance before visit. To late for us for Brussels. Even though oldtimers are free for low-emission zones but the notice in advance is obligation.

A day starting skanky but ending with a wonderful walk through Bruges.

Today we have switched the camping ground from the suburb of Bruges to a campsite in the downtown of Bruges. Then we have left our truck in Bruges and took the train the visit Ghent/ Gent. In Ghent/ Gent we spent the whole day and were excited from the wonderful city. Also we found many known location from a holiday more than 15 years ago. After more than nine hours we reached our truck again in Bruges.

A day within our past with our family from today.

A rainy day at the Baltic-Coast of Belgium. The Baltic-Coast of Belgium is beautiful, wide and absorbed by the hotels-tourismus. Therefore we left Belgium and entered Netherland respectively Zeeland. Zeeland provides more space for campers. After a loop around the coast of Breskens we have found our overnight stay in the front of a vacation complex in Groede. We need to pay for this spot but we had a great endowment with a lot of playgrounds , services and the beach.

The day was impressed from the rain but leads us along a wonderful coast.

Date 22nd of October 2023

A (almost) sunny day at the Baltic-Coast of Belgium. The noon and afternoon we spent at west side of the beach of Breskens. We enjoying the sun and flew the kites and built a sand castle. In the evening we starting our trip through Zeeland and made a pause at a small beach by Hoofdplaat included a mudflat hiking tour. After a short drive we left Netherland and found our overnight spot in Sint-Niklaas in the front of the railway.

A day with many sunshine hour during the day and many rain during the night.

Date 23rd of October 2023 a special photo story about Antwerp.

Antwerp an amazing town with a historical centre, a wonderful town hall and the most beautiful railway station, which I have seen until now.

After the breakfast we took the train from Sint-Niklaas to Antwerp. Sadly our oldest daughter Luna was sick and has to be stayed in the bed. For Antwerp we have a separate photo story. After Antwerp and back in Sint-Niklaas we drove by raining into the night (our wipers and blink was out of service). We found our overnight spot in Mechelen within a mega water puddle.

Date 24th of October 2023

The rain has been stopped, the cloud cover has been set off and the sun has been appeared. We have overnighted directly in the front of a leisure park with many playgrounds, swimming lake, beaches, bouncy bounce and crags. The doors were open and we have not to pay and we was (almost) alone within the leisure park. In the afternoon we went forward and visited Tongeren the oldest town of Belgium. We have found our last overnight spot by this road trip in Malmédy.

A road trip through the North-East of Belgium passing wonderful townes.

Date 25th of October 2023

Our last road trip day. After the breakfast we braved the rain and visited Malmédy and the local playground. However the strengthened rain forced us to took harbored in the local church. After a short rain break we bought cakes for everybody and went back to our truck. In the afternoon we left Belgium and we entered Germany. Before evening we reached our home base.

The end of this road trip but the next road trip is in planning.
